Match report Having left the club last night with the knowledge of no game today I was delighted to find out a fixture had been found and we had wooburn narkovians journeying to montesole after their original fixture had been called off.With us in the Chiltern league and them in the Thames Valley league we were told they were bringing a young side to our ground so we looked forward to a good game of cricket and that's is exactly what was to occur ,in fact an excellent game took place.wncc won the toss and elected to bat ,they had turned up with an umpire and unbelievably an excellent lady scorer who had 2 sons and a husband playing.solid batting throughout their top 7saw them to 253 for 7 off their 40 overs. Both teams had 10 players 1 a barker 21 2 w cuthbert 43,3 hall 23,4 r barker 56 not out, 5 Ben barker 46 and at 7 r wheeler 47 all batted solidly ,pinners bowlers nick Lawrence 2 for 42,ravi pandya 2 for 64,Dan downer 1 for 45,mateen choudhry 1 for 30 and murali neelakandan 1 for 15 took the wickets.pinner lost murali neelakandan early doors but kieran carter 23 batted well till departing at 40 for 2.This bought ravi pandya 51 in 48 balls and mateen choudhry 43 in 59 balls together and an excellent partnership of 94 so 134 for 3 when ravi departed.pinner then lost 4 quick wickets including mateen and slumped to 143 for 7 and a win looked in no way on the cards.rain started shortly after and both teams decided to brave it and carry on the game.alan carter 60 not out at 7 55 balls and Leroy Rogers 30 in at 9 put on a record 8th wicket sunday record with a 104 partnership in 14 overs and a massive 41 extras saw pinner end up only 3 runs short at 250 for 8 and a 3 run victory for wncc ,credit wncc for playing on in unpleasant conditions cuthbert 3 for 4 was their main wicket taker .lisa noel served up her usual tea well appreciated by our team and visitors once again thank you lisa for that
