Match report The 1st X1 travelled to Chalfont st Giles cc today to take on their 2nd X1 in our chiltern league fixture and maintain our unbeaten start to the season.on a warm but fairly breezy day captain Daniel Langan on winning the toss had no hesitation but too decide that we would bat first.Norman had arrived a little late and so was happy to give up his opening spot so jonny hymers and raj pandian opened facing a more than useful home team opening bowlers generating good pace and good line and length both batsmen gave a chance that wasn't taken and the confidence began to return .jonny 40 in 83 balls 6x4 and raj 24 2 x 4 settled in and in the 23rd over jonny was bowled 74 for 1 Norman Williams came in at 3 and almost immediately raj departed lbw 86 for 2 but the 2 openers had done their job .hari ramachandran joined Norman and after scoring 14 in 21 balls was caught behind 112 for 3 after 29 overs.Norman was joined by Abdul majeed and they both set about the bowlers aggressively and were to put on a 78 partnership till Norman on 49 departed bowled 190 for 4 .salman moeeniddin joined the run race but was to lose Abdul 37 in 38 balls 194 for 5 this bought Ravi pandya into the fray and he chipped in with 11 221 for 6. Nick Lawrence came out to bat and him and salman played some very good shots and well placed to see Pinner to 268 for 6 off 49 overs Nick 22 not out including a glorious driven 6 and salman 42 not out in 33 balls.pinner stats 50 in 19 overs,100 in 26pt 1 overs ,150 34pt 2 overs 200 in 43pt 2 overs 250 in 47pt 5 overs captain Cedric ayres 3 for 53 off 15 overs was the main home bowling success.as all our 8 batters got double figures in a solid Pinner cc batting performance. opening bowler Payne was to take no further part in the game after falling ill and leaving the field before the climax of our batting today so only 10 were to bat though at that time options were in place if he wanted to continue .Tea was taken and Chalfont had 51 overs to chase down our score which was an excellent score to achieve by our batting line up who had all performed in this team effort.Abdul majeed opened up with Daniel Langan and it was a Daniel catch off his own bowling that broke the opening partnership 24 for 1 .incredibly abdul got 3 lbw at 38 for 2 38 for 3 and 50 for4 all affirmed by the home umpire and with Nick Lawrence striking at 52 for 5 lbw affirmed by Leeroy rogers
It was looking bleak for the home team with Pinner cock a hoop
and salman moeeniddin at 81 for 6 his first 2 balls struck to the boundary then 3rd a snick gleefully taken by raj pandian behind the stumps one felt the game was pinners for sure with youngsters to come in but as we know in cricket games can turn .sachin kapadia and Richard dean both 16 took the game to Pinner and played good shots putting on 71 before Ravi pandya safely pouched a good catch in the deep off abdul and was immediately engulfed by team mates as kapadia 40 departed 152 for 7 .dean then opened up even more unfazed at the loss and with good support from a 3rd 16 year old put on 54 before Daniel bowled him 206 for 8 dean on 49 an excellent innings. Daniel had made good use of switching the bowling around using 7 bowlers and it was to be Nicholas Lawrence that found the edge of the Chalfont batter gleefully snapped up by raj pandian that gave Pinner victory by 60 runs with 4pt 2 overs remaining Chalfont 208 for 9 .pinners wicket takers were abdul majeed 13 overs 2 maidens 4 wickets for 50 ,Daniel Langan 10 overs 3 maidens 2 wickets for 33 ,Nicholas Lawrence 5pt 4 overs 0 maidens 2 wickets for 33 ,salman moeeniddin 7 overs 1 maiden 1 wicket for 32 . I thought the 4 16 year olds and the 19 year old all aquitted themselves well today and Chalfont st Giles certainly have good youngsters coming through their system in to their x1s
