Match report Pinner 2's hosted their friends Holyport at the Montesole Oval in their penultimate Chilterns League game. On a bright day Holyport won the toss and decided to bat, a decision that both teams were going to make.
With the league tile won last week there was a certain complacency in the field as a number of a chances were put down with some sloppy fielding and Holyport, with the ever reliable Edwards and his opening partner putting on 55 very quick runs. However Campbell Grace (4-48) made the first, second and third breakthroughs in the 11th over as batsmen couldn't play the quick straight delivery.
At the other end a slightly wayward Jamie Carter (0-26) was replaced after 4 overs, with Ticehurst putting anything short over the boundary. Enter the bowler Jack Tucker (6-21). Bowling a good line and length, and finding enough movement to trouble all batsmen, Jack had all batsmen in trouble. His third wicket was the important Edwards, often possible of batting through the innings, and the backbone of Holyport's batting.
After a couple of late partnerships that put on 52 for the 9th and 10th wickets Campbell came back to take his deserved 4th wicket.
Pinner's innings started slowly with Robert Fells an early victim. Shakib Miskeenmal (21) joined Simon Pilsbury (53*) and they put on 42 before Shak went to the second LBW of the innings. Saif Khan (16) was unusually quiet and it left to Cyrus Barrett (22*) to finish the run chase and enable Simon to carry his bat for a hard worked 53.
A good, solid win for the Lambs and their points collection continues with another 30 on a lovely day at the Oval.
