Match report Pinner 2's travelled to quaint Knotty Green for their first game of the season. After losing the toss, Pinner were asked to field in bright but cold conditions. Felix Hoh and Nicholas Lawrence opened the bowling and produced fine spells without getting the rewards they deserved. It was left to Simon Pilsbury to take the first wickets, bowling like a young Philip Page! Skips weighed in with 4 for 32 off 14 overs. Felix came back, bowling fast with control to claim 2 wickets, with what some said was his best bowling for the club. Sahil Aggarwal got in on the act taking one wicket and only Nick being unfortunate not to get in on the act. The bowlers were backed up by excellent fielding, with highlights including diving stops by Cyrus Barrett and Robert Fells, a brilliant catch by Sahil and excellent keeping from Kam Mistry (only 4 byes on a very difficult day for keepers).
182 was a par score for the small ground and the Lambs soon set about the run chase. Aussie Andrew Maher (19) and Fellsy (31) put on 51 for the first wicket before a mini collapse saw Pinner limp to 80 for 5, with batsman struggling with the slow turning ball. Rob (36*) joined Simon (15) to get the score to 118 before Nick (20*) hit some wonderful boundaries to see the Lambs home with overs and wickets to spare.
A great game played in good spirits, and maximum points. Thanks to Leeroy Rogers and Maison Noel for braving the cold and a special mention to Lisa Noel - boy were your teas missed yesterday!
Well done to all, an excellent team performance and next onto Little Marlow.
