Match report Penn and tylers green 2nd x1 turned up at montesole today on a beautiful warm day with at times quite a breeze blowing ,Daniel won the toss and invited them to bat.felix 1st 2 balls went for 4,and 6 and I said to the batsmens team mates where did this guy your skipper use to play high wycombe cc was the answer. Nick barber 48 6 X 4 3 X 6 was the batsman and with his fellow opener put on 45 in 9pt 1 overs before asif khan parted them barber had 36 at this stage. Salman moeenidden making his 1st team debut joined the attack and trapped barber lbw and in taking 2 other wickets saw the visitors 74 for 4.daniel langan joined the attack and a tidy spell without luck,then ravi pandya struck 3 blows including young colt jake Wilson 22 in 44 balls an excellent innings to reduce the visitors to 129 for 7 after 40 overs and pinner looked set for going for the kill and at 144 for 8 it was heading that way.however John carpenter 52 not out 6 X 4 65 balls set about the pinner attack and with jeff Morris 25 not out had an unbeaten 51 partnership for the 9th wicket and at 52 overs the visitors innings closed at 195 for 8.asif khan 1 for 38,salmon moeeniddin 3 for 41,ravi pandya 3 for 33 and abdul majeed 1 for 25 took the bowling honours for pcc.unfortunately for us at least 4 catches were spilled and I felt the visitors had 40 plus runs more than maybe should have but I guess I must say to myself it's in the book.with 48 overs to get the runs pinners Norman williams and alan carter opened the innings and with some style put on 62 when Norman departed in the 11th over for 34 7 X 4.enter John hymers our adopted geordie .alan carter opened up with well placed shots and though he was dropped twice he went on to fully punish the visitors bowling attack for 83 not out 108 balls 9 X 4 1 X 6 133 minutes in an excellent innings.john hymers dug in and he this left hand bat is more than capable of just that and has a good league/ team temperament to score 49 in 88 balls 93 minutes 5 X 4 before departing the 2nd wicket down and with alan carter a 125 partnership in 26 overs the 2nd week running John involved in over 100 partnerships .enter ravi pandya desperate to give it some slap (whay hey) and he did 2 hard hit boundaries as pinner cruised home in 37pt 4 overs To Win By 8 Wickets. The opposistion used 9 bowlers to try and make a breakthrough but dropping 5 catches compounded their efforts to do so . Well done boys ,lisa prepared her usual teas and an opposistion player said to me I wish we could mirror those teas at our ground so much variety well done lisa
