Match report Downley from the high Wycombe area of Buckinghamshire made the journey to montesole playing fields to take on our 1st x1 .pinner won the toss and the opposition were invited to bat in this limited overs contest of 45 overs per team with win lose or tie as possible results.Downley openers stone 41 and Birkett 29 batted well with occupation intent and praveen 36 was threatening to cause us big problems till he was brilliantly caught by Ravi Pandya in the deep. Downley with 7 double figure batsmen and 6 double figure partnerships were all out for 214 off the final ball of there allocation.nick Lawrence 2 wickets for 41,Raahul aggarwal 2 for 52,Salman moeenidden 3 for 34, Daniel langan 1 for 21 and Ravi Pandya 1 for 40 plus a run out took the wickets for pinner.A lisa tea was then served up the best variety our spoilt players will I believe ever sample in their cricketing travels.rohitesh dhawan and Alan. Carter opened but Alan was clean bowled for a duck which was an early blow for pinner in our run chase.rohit 46 in 81 balls and Raahul 40 in 54 balls put on 77 in 19 overs and pinner seemed quite well placed.However the bowling tightened up and pinner’s runs dried up and pressure was beginning in the run chase.pinner had 5 double figure partnerships but only 4 double figure batsmen Jack tucker 17 and nick Lawrence 15 being the other two.A succession of batsmen came and went and pinner actually lost 6 in about as many overs as they crashed to a 51 run defeat with 3 pt 5 overs still to bat.praveen 3 for 27 ,ulhaq 4 for 47, Patel 1 for 34 ,Ali 1 for 26 and a run out caused pinner’s demise.All in all no complaints downley were the better team and we must take on board how we can improve moving forward to what we all know will be a challenging season ahead
