It's with heavy heart to share the news of the passing of long standing social member, Malcolm Bliss, in the early hours of 21 April 2024.
Malcolm will be remembered as a stalwart and avid supporter of Pinner Cricket Club.
The Club and it’s members wish to acknowledge and celebrate his invaluable contributions to the Club Culture, and also the support and contributions he made to the Junior section of the club when it was initiated. Many Senior Cricket Players at the club have come through the Junior section, and his contributions helped make this possible and lay the foundation for the Club’s position now.
As a cherished member of the club, Malcolm embodied the true spirit of the club and was also keen to chat to other members in the clubhouse. Though Malcolm may no longer be with us in person, his legacy will continue to resonate within Pinner Cricket Club and beyond.
“Malcolm was a loyal member of Pinner Cricket Club for many years. He actively supported the club, cheering on many games, and during the early stages of the junior section's creation in the early 2000s, he made generous donations to ensure its success. We will also miss his wit and humour. May he rest in peace.” - Daniel Langan, Club Captain
“Malcolm was a long-time social member of the club, you could set your clock by his arrival each day! He was well regarded by the rest of the membership, a friend of mine for 18 years, he sponsored the Colts in years gone by and always bought the latest polo shirts and caps that were available, he was very pleased with the new logo, said that it was great that the club was moving forward, he had a very dry sense of humour and there were several Malcolmisms over the years that had us all in stitches. He will be greatly missed.” - Lisa Noel, Bar Manager & Committee Member.
Malcolm’s life will be celebrated at Friday 24th May, 3pm at Breakspear Crematorium, HA4 7SJ, followed by a gathering at Pinner Cricket Club, Montesole Ct, HA5 3SA
