Match report Pinner cc 1st x1 took the field at the most lovely ground of white waltham cc near Maidenhead berkshire today, after losing the toss the home captain elected to bat on a extremely hot afternoon.2 early ish dropped Catches were to prove costly as the home teams openers 1 mohammed nasir 78 in 105 balls 131 minutes 10 X 4 and 2 hugh giles -toon 104 129 balls 142 minutes 9 X 4 1 X 6 put on a massive 191 partnership in
39 overs and 275 plus was looking on the cards.pinner then bowled tightly with in particular skipper Daniel Langan 1 for 61 off 15 overs and abdul majeed 2 for 65 in 14 overs and mateen choudhry 3 for 56 off 9 overs plus a run out off his bowling restricting wwcc to 244 for 7 off 52 overs. Jonathan hoh took a spectacular running catch with wicket keeper raj pandian taking a catch and 2 stumpings, other than the opening pair only one other batsman attained double figures .pinner had 48 overs to bat and alan carter opened with Norman williams and Norman departed for 12 so 16 for 1.knowing that 1 of our top 6 had to anchor if we were to reach our target alan carter 43 in 55 balls did just that and with salman moeeniddin promoted to 3 put on 75 before alan departed at 96 for 2.abdul majeed departed for 6 102 for 3 and raj pandian 26 in 31 balls 5 X 4 put on 52 with salman so 154 for 4.and pinner poised to go on to victory needing 91 at approx 5 an over.however salman went for 57 in 83 balls 8 X 4 after an excellent innings 170 for 5 then nevan o sullivan went cheaply 174 for 6 so top 6 all out and victory seemingly out of reach as daniel went to the dressing room to change and get padded up.asif khan and ravi pandya then both perished and at 181 for 8 pinner with 8 overs to bat seemed to be heading to a defeat oh dear.however mateen choudhry 12 not out and Felix hoh dug in batting very sensibly and mateen sent the last two balls of the game to the boundary greeted with loud cheers to reach 201 for 8 to gain an extra point I believe us 10 and wwcc 14 and a deserved draw jez Ellis 3
for 51 and Richard West 2 for 24 bowled well for wwcc .well done the team today first for the fightback in the field on an energy sapping day and secondly for taking a share of the spoils in a game played in a good spirit and a game that I felt we played our part in and deserved something for our performance
