Match report The first X1 made the just over 27 miles journey to white Waltham (near Maidenhead ) Berkshire today to play the home teams 2nd X1 and arrived in good time for this chiltern league encounter despite an accident hold up on the motorway which probably took 20 minutes before traffic was flowing again .captain Daniel Langan won the toss and decided to bat first on this hot day and after a chat with the team about occupying the crease and building partnerships that was to be an excellent decision. Norman Williams and raj pandian opened and raj at 21 for 1 in the 6th over was unfortunate to chop a full length ball on to his stumps. This bought hari ramachandran to the crease and both him and Norman went about building till hari 24 perished at 69 for 2 in the 19th over.Pinner were playing the first change bowler Richard west who bowled an excellent line and length cautiously and then started to make big shots off the further 2 change bowlers .jack tucker 34 7 x 4 came in and played some good shots and Norman who built his innings departed at 130 for 3 for an excellent 61 11 x 4 1 x 6 and then jack was out at 132 for 4 in the 32nd over.so 2 new batsmen salman moeeniddin and Abdul majeed were then given the task to restart pinners innings and both cautiously at first played themselves in and this reaped big rewards for Pinner. West who had bowled 12 overs for 18 runs suddenly went for 25 off 2 overs as Abdul decided that he was going to now play his attacking cricket and we all know that he hits the ball extremely hard to the boundary when he is so to say on one.salman took a backward step but guided the ball around simply with no fuss leaving the aggression to Abdul. These 2 put on 101 partnership in about 13 overs before Abdul 60 6 x 4 3 x 6 in 47 balls and salman 30 both departed at 234 for 6 then Ravi pandya 17 not out Nick Lawrence 12 and Felix hoh 7 not out saw Pinner through to a final score of 276 for 8 off 50 overs. West 3 for 43 and tony white 3 for 33 off 4 overs took the bowling honours for white Waltham.leeroy had been asked by the home captain to umpire both ends and a white Waltham official decided he wanted to remain at square leg all was amicable .Tea was taken and a very good one served up with lots of variety was enjoyed by most apart from asif ,Abdul and salman who were in Ramadan fasting mode.pinner opened up with asif Khan and captain Daniel Langan and with asif striking and then Daniel twice the home reply at 9 for 3 was in tatters after their spell chasing leather in the field.captain chapman and keeper Mahoney led a recovery to 49 when salman joined the attack and struck twice 49 for 5 with asif also striking twice including chapman 49 for 7 off 21 overs with a home player carrying an injury only 2 more wickets needed in 29 overs .All rounder salman struck twice more with 3 of his wickets clean bowled to see the home team 66 all out with over 24 overs still remaining .asif figures 12 overs 4 maidens 3 for 28 ,Daniels 7 overs 3 maidens 2 for 20 and salman 5pt 1 overs 2 maidens 4 for 12 as Pinner won by a massive 210 runs and 30 points in the bag with this excellent team performance today and concentration levels at a high with so many noisy engined light planes flying over the scenic cricket ground from the nearby white Waltham airfield
