Match report Pinner's wretched Middlesex Championship season continued on Saturday as Old Lyonians galloped to a five wicket win over them at Montesole.

Batting first, Pinner slumped to 49/6, after which the innings became a crawl as they looked to accumulate runs. Finbarr O'Connor was central to this task, making 67 not our, and was assisted by the tail, particularly Colin Downing, who helped him add 32, as Pinner reached 167/9 off a colossal 81 overs. John Kerley took the bowling honours with 5/40.

Lyonians, with only 25 overs to bat, went after the Pinner bowling from the start. Mike Smith hit 46 and Rob Harrigan 57 not out, his half century coming with successive sixes off Chris Hawes, and with quick-fire support from others, the target was reached with five wickets and more than an over to spare.
