Batting first, Pinner scored steadily against tight bowling to reach 205 with Ian Cortis scoring 66 and Tony Taylor 54 in his first game of the season. In reply, a stand of 131 between Tombs and Bishop took Highgate to the brink of victory before O'Connor had Bishop stumped for 60.
