Match report The Lambs second string travelled to little Marlow on a lovely spring day, and arrived at the village ground as final preparations were taking place.
In place of Rob, Kam Mistry led a strong side on his 200th league appearance for Pinner and joined Norm and Cyrus Barrett on the 200 club. However normal service was resumed as he lost the toss and LM elected to bat on a warm afternoon. Felix Hoh (1-48) and Nicholas Lawrence (4-53) bowled a good opening spell, often beating the bat with Nick making the breakthrough in the 6th over. There followed a stubborn 20 over partnership as LM regrouped to 85 for 1. Enter the legend Cyrus Barrett (2-37) with 2 wickets in 2 balls. More solid batting followed until a direct hit by Sahil Aggarwal had them 128-4. Nick, with another 2 in 2 balls and Felix returned and it was only some fine hitting in the last 2 overs that took LM to a competitive score, 203 off of 47 overs.
After a better tea than last week but still not up to Pinner standards Lisa Noel, Pinner took to chasing an average score. After losing Andrew Maher and Kam early, Robert Fells (41) and Saif Khan (82) batted solidly, with Saif hitting the biggest 6 of the day, clearing the longest boundary by over 20 yards! It was left to Sikander Merchant(47*) and Shyam Sonpal to see the Lambs home with 10 overs to spare. A fine 6 wicket win!
So 2 wins in 2, and a strong team performance has the team at the right end of the table. Thanks go to Dave (aka Maison Noel) and Dan Fozzi Foskett for sharing their skills and we go to Hurley next week at the top end of the league!
