Pinner Cricket Club Sunday 1st XI v Wembley on Sun 22 May 2016 at 14.00
Match was Abandoned at tea due to a waterlogged pitch

Match report The sunday side welcomed charlie meyers with his wembley team to montesole today for a 2pm start on what was at that time a beautiful hot sunny day for a 40 over game per team .charlie wembley skipper wanted a time game but after a chat with alan carter our Sunday captain it was agreed an overs match it would be.The plowright twins mike and Bruce travelling by train from northampton were also in the wembley x1 just a note for our older members who know of them like me they have had more clubs than jack nicklaus.pinner bowled very well with salman moeeniddin and shyam sonpal then sharji Thomas and Simon pilsbury restricting wembley to 58 for 2 after 20 overs.however wembley then as was obviously going to be went for it with 8 wickets in hand to post 205 for 5 off 40 overs.salman took 2 for 29 off 8 overs an excellent spell shyam 1 for 42 off 7 overs,Simon 0 for 24 off 6 overs shaji 1 for 13 off 5 overs and young colt akhil dabasia 1 for 20 off 4 overs.alan used 8 bowlers Dan downer, rakesh dabasia who took 2 excellent catches young colt aaryan thakrar completed the 8.dhaval norotomo 82 10 X 4 in 93 balls 130 minutes, and Dev venkat 47 in 53 balls a 104 partnership for the 3rd wicket and tejas shah 30 not out 5 X 4 in 16 balls were the main wembley runs scorers. As the wembley innings finished it had begun to rain and alan and his team put the covers on to protect the strip.however whilst having tea a torrential downpour was more than enough to bring an end to this game .The wembley innings had finished at 4 36 pm and after removal of covers and inspection at 5 35 pm it was decided rightly to abandon the game a disappointing outcome but common sense prevailed as in these circumstances always both teams safety must always come first so a correct decision was made.wembley founded in 1860 are old opponents of pinner and feature with double fixtures in 1888 our home ground then Barrow point avenue pinner and 1896 at our ground then at the time unamed but now known as montesole playing fields I have photo copy evidence of that from the Harrow gazette.our 3 young colts playing now regular on sundays kieran carter akhil dabasia and aaryan thakrar all give it their best efforts and have all took to the adult format with aplomb in my opinion they are unphased at this higher yardstick with our club so a big well done boys and credit to the wider team and captain alan who are helping them in this transistion .wembley as you would expect were overwhelmed with our teas, earlier charlie had asked me what are they like, I said I would say excellent and you will do well to find a better tea, later before he left pcc he said you were spot on ak
