Holyport 2 v Pinner Cricket Club Saturday 1st XI on Sat 18 Jun 2016 at 13.00
Pinner Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets

Match report Pinner cc 1st x1 journeyed to holyport near Maidenhead berkshire today a 26 mile trip our furthest away match in this current chiltern div 3 league. It had rained there last night and the covers had been put in place on today's match strip yesterday afternoon. The outfield was damp and it was one of those days you want to win the toss and bowl and that's exactly what Daniel Langan did today.holyport 2nd x1were swiftly reduced to 15 for 2 By Asif Khan and Harsha poovaiah and immediately pinner were on an upper.edwards opening dug in for 59 balls scoring 10 trying his best to keep us at bay but harsha poovaiah ripped through 4 other batsmen for a 5 wicket haul and holyport reduced to 28 for 6.asif struck again as did harsha to remove Edwards and at 33 for 8 after 23 overs holyport were in total collapse.harsha 15 overs 4 maidens 6 for 20, and asif 15 overs 7 maidens 2 for 18 had seen to the holyport demise.pinner changed the bowling now as enforced by the 15 over maximum and this is where holyport cc truly dug in with 9 shaw scoring 1 run in 55 balls,10 Dunn 24 in 77 balls and sulamen at 11, 9 in 19 balls and doubled the score plus to 75 all out in 41pt 5 unecessary run out going for a 3rd run saw them 9 down before mateen choudhry bowled the gutsy dunn to close the innings salman moeeniddin ,ravi pandya and Daniel bowled but didn't take any wickets today.tea was taken and clouds were beginning to darken but no rain followed.pinner opened with jack smith and alan carter ,carter went for 5 and we 19 for 1 with raj pandian at 3 7 not out it was then that smith once again ruthlessy took the bowling attack on aggressively hitting 6 X 4 1 X 6 and when he departed at 53 for 2 he had 42 of those runs.enter Saif khan 24 not out who mirrored jacks aggression hitting 4 X 4 1 X 6 the latter being the match winning boundary As pinner strolled to 79 for 2 in 17 pt 5 overs and an Emphatic 8 wicket victory For pinner
.. and yippee no rain.its always nice for me going to holyport as I played against them in sunday fixtures for over 20 years we have a long association with them and I wish them well going forward as at present they are struggling getting up players for teams and I sympathise as we in the past 1984,1995 had similar problems which thankfully we somehow got over it and moved onwards and upwards
