Match report Pinner needing to get maximum points from today's last league game at braywood cc won the toss and Daniel Langan rightly elected to bat.norman williams 33 in 69 balls 5 X 4 and alan carter 9 opened the batting and alan under hit the ball skywards and after 6 overs 24 for 1.raj pandian 7 put on 26 with Norman till adjudged caught by wicket keeper 50 for 2 13 overs.we were on track for 200 and had more than capable batting on paper to reach this target.when you get this total it is 9 times out of 10 one or 2 of your top 6 who will see you through to achieving this target by tying up an end and digging in.norman was out 90 for 3 at 20 overs.abdul majeed had joined him at 4 and aggressively struck 41 4 X 4 2 X 6 in 49 balls so both Norman and abdul out 110 for 4 28 overs this was a big blow as both batsmen were in the groove .Salman moeeniddin 9 ,mateen choudhry 8 both perished as pinner crashed to 129 for 6 after 37 overs and 200 was now seeming a long way away.nevan o 'sullivan at 7(19 )batted well for 49 balls till he was out 144 for 7 42 overs.asif khan went cheaply at 8 for 1 run 149 for 8 44 overs.ravi pandya 15 and Daniel Langan 12 not out put on 22 for the 9th wicket 171 for 9 49 overs before ravi was out soon followed by harsha poovaiah so pcc 172 all out 49 pt 3 overs.rizvi mohammed 4 for 42 off 10 overs jay jeyarajah 2 for 24 off 8 overs and shiny johnson 2 for 21 off 6 overs all bowled well for braywood with rauf sawan and gaurav kayal taking 1 a piece .pinner needed to strike back quickly and asif khan did just that reducing braywood to 19 for 2 off 7 overs.However opener Harvey rackley -hayes 47 with 8 X 4 1 X 6 set about pinner till daniel langan captured him as ravi pandya took a juggling catch in the deep 90 for 3 off 23 overs.Then abdul majeed struck twice removing johnson 36 and Ellis 4 to reduce braywood to 102 for 5 30 overs.with the game now in the balance crucially a 40 run partnership for the 6th wicket in 13 overs saw braywood back as favourite 142 for 6 as salman struck then 147 for 7 as salman struck again with 5 overs to bat 26 needed 3 Wickets in hand .a crucial 17 run partnership for the 8th wicket till abdul struck 164 for 8.batsmen 9 and 10 with 11 and 10 both not out saw braywood to a 2 wicket victory in a topsy Turvey match with 1pt 2 overs remaining and in the end much disappointment for visitors pinner in their promotion quest .asif khan took 2 for 30 off 10 overs,salman moeeniddin 2 for 29 off 7pt 4 overs,daniel langan 1 for 24 off 10 overs,and abdul majeed 3 for 31 off 9 overs gave their best today and though we shall never know 190 could have been interesting but the facts were 172 was not enough on this day.we have played some excellent cricket this year in a positive manor and that should not be forgotten as we reflect on our 2nd season in the Chiltern league
