Pinner Cricket Club Sunday 1st XI v Woodlands on Sun 26 Jun 2016 at 13:00
Pinner Cricket Club Lost by 2 wickets

Match report I love my cricket so it was nice to turn up at pinner cc today and being informed that the weather forcast was for no rain and a game would be able to be started and finished.pinner won the toss and elected to bat against old opponents woodlands and jack smith and young kieran carter opened the innings ,it was apparent from the opening overs that if we could bat our 40 overs and scored 130 / 140 that would possibly??be a winning score of course dependant on how we bowled and fielded but as we cricketers know if but, what ifs ,could have should have in hindsight count for nothing it's what took place that counts ultimately.runs were not easy to score and 7 pinner batsmen scored double figures under 20 but no one was able to stay around to score over that figure. jack smith 15 ,kieran 12,nevan o sullivan colt 13 ,John hoh colt 10 mateen choudhry 11,Dan foskett 15 and alan carter 17 all got going but couldn't progress and disappointingly pinner were 113 all out in 35 overs with 5 overs still to bat.pinner opened with jack smith and young colt aaryan thakrar and jack struck and aaryan twice to reduce woodlands to 8 for 3 and alarm bells for the opposistion were loudly ringing.however Andrew joanides hit aaryan for 4 X 4 so he was withdrawn with 2 for 25 off 4.jack took another wicket but joanides took him for 20 off 1 over remarkably as jack bowled 8 overs for 30 runs and 2 wickets.mateen was in for a mirror image of aggression by the free scoring batsman 23 in his 2nd over again joanides Being Responsible For that.tallen neelakandan joined the attack and joanides did not take any chances with him and played him on merit as tallen struck 3 blows to reduce woodlands to 69 for 7 .The number 4 had 52 of that score .It was obvious that he was the batsmen looking to single handily win the game hitting 6 X 4 and 5 X 6 but tallen bowled him for 76 off 57 balls to make it that wouldn't happen.tallen 4 for 11 off 7 overs clean bowling 3 bowled a very good controlled spell excellently and looks to have a very good future in cricket going forward in the adult format.woodland were 104 for 8 still needing 10 to win and they managed to get over the line for a 2 wicket victory with 13pt 2 overs to bat .well done kieran, aaryan and tallen you all look so at home with your more experienced team mates.bob harrison though not taking a wicket bowled 5pt 4 overs for 11 runs in a tight spell , lisa did her usual tea and the game was played in a good spirit and it's nice from a club point of view that our colts are having such an impact in our senior format of the game that is cricket and being encouraged by our senior players well done all
