Match report Braywood 2nd X1 travelled to Pinner in dribs and drabs for the chiltern league game at division 3 leaders at our montesole home today.Their captain was en route and vice captain was ready to do the toss of a coin with Daniel Langan However with the problems we've encountered in past meetings with the said captain Daniel insisted that affirmation be received from him before doing so which he agreed with his vice captain.pinner won the toss and elected to bat and it was agreed that as they had no umpire Leeroy Rogers would stand both ends throughout the match .i asked for the opposition list to be told our keeper has pulled out, we only have 10 I wonder if you have a spare,I had never come across that totally odd request ever before today in a league match.The skipper turned up shortly after and 8 opposistion were ready game on or so we all thought.He wanted to delay the start further by waiting for his on the way 2 absolutely incredible but with his agenda the only one he was interested and certainly not the official in charge of proceedings in ,umpire Leeroy put his foot down and play started at 1 23pm despite the moaning and carry on of the captain.pinner with Norman Williams and raj pandian opening rightly wanted to make hay while other two on way.norman hit the ball back to the bowler and had a let off 1st ball he faced only then on the 5th ball to be caught deep mid off oh dear 6 for 1 .hari ramachandran at 3 started placing the ball around and after 3 overs braywood finally had 10 men.raj and hari bedded in and at the completion of a 50 partnership hari 31 off 33 balls perished caught keeper 56 for 2 12pt 4 overs .alan carter came to the crease and played himself in but credit to the oppos bowling attack good fields to tight deliveries meant boundaries were not going to be in abundance and we were made to work very hard scoring runs.raj was out at 113 for 3 in the 28th over a 57 run partnership for 35 in 74 balls 119 mins 4 x 4 with Alan who then was out in the very next over 113 for 4 29 overs for 32 4 x 4 58 balls 66 mins .This meant a rebuild of the innings was needed and salman moeeniddin and tamoor Haidar were in place to do so,unfortunately tamoor went for 4 120 for 5 31 overs and Pinner teetering and stuttering now innings final total and extra overs given to opposition was in the balance enter Asif Khan ,salman looked likely but then got bowled 137 for 6 .ravi pandya got a quick flurry then departed 154 for 7 and pinners 200 target looked to be unachievable now with the loss of wickets.Asif bedded in nudging as John hoh
went at 167 for 8 .captain Daniel Langan and asif saw Pinner through to 182 for 8 after 46 overs and 200 was on ,however Daniel was then out and harsha poovaih first ball as asif was left marooned on 20 not out 51 balls an excellent effort without the intake of water on such a steaming day. 2 drinks breaks had taken place but the slow over bowling of braywood meant 46 pt 3 overs bowled in 189 minutes. braywoods g Kyal 2 for 34, rizmi mohammed 2 for 36 , shin Johnson 2 for 36 and j jeyrajah 4 for 19 took the wickets.Tea was taken and then Pinner prepared in a huddle bowling and fielding team talk knowing that we had 53 overs to bowl at braywood .asif Khan opened with Daniel Langan and it was asif who struck lbw 1 for 1 in the 5th over then 19 for 2 in the 9th over bowled . Raj pandian took a catch and a quick stumping 29 for 3 13 overs then 50 for 4 17 overs drinks.salman had come on and after drinks braywood were reeling 52 for 5 became 54 for 6 as salman took a catch to complete an asif 5fer so Pinner now had over 20 overs to clear up for another victory. Braywood had a go as harsha poovaih joined the attack and he was to take the 7th wicket at 77. Further resistance took place and it was at 112 when harsha struck again for the 8th wicket .Asifs excellent effort for Pinner today with his all round game was rewarded by an excellent take behind dismissing shiny Johnston 40 by raj pandian 3 catches 1 stumping as asif bought a close to braywoods innings at 133 for 9 all out after 36 pt 5 overs and 49 run victory for Pinner .asif 14pt 5 overs 6 maidens 6 wickets for 41 ,salman moeeniddin 8 overs 1 maiden 1 for 37 and harsha poovaih 7 overs 0 maidens 2 wickets for 26 runs took the bowling honours for Pinner.well done to Leeroy Rogers today who dealt so well with his no nonsense tactics too not accept in any way opposition captains mind games and Daniel and all our players for not reacting to them in any way ,onwards and upwards cmon you lambs
