Match report White Waltham 2nd X1 travelled from the Maidenhead Berkshire area to montesole today knowing that at there ground only a few weeks ago Pinner 1st X1 had handed them a 210 run thrashing . We had played them twice last season and a tie and a backs to the wall draw had been the 2 results so I think we all were prepared for a much tougher game today.Daniel won the toss and had no hesitation in electing to bat and at 23 for 0 off the first 2 overs we had to be happy with that start.in the 3rd over raj pandian perished lbw and Norman Williams looking set was bowled around his legs 2 overs later 29 for 2 .opening bowler Luke beard was bowling well striking twice and captain Ellis also bowled a steady line and length.Alan Carter and jack tucker dug in and Pinner seemed to have weathered the early storm when disaster struck in the 10th over from Ellis with both alan and nevan o' Sullivan out and Pinner slumping to 44 for 4 . Jack tucker and salman moeeniddin had seen out 7 overs when jack fell 73 for 5 off 17 overs the runs welcome the 5 wickets not and exposure to the tail not looking good at this early stage. Enter Felix hoh who batted excellently for Pinner today and scored a good 25 in a partnership of 53 with salman for the 6th wicket after 27 overs but despite this fantastic effort Pinner were in danger of giving white Waltham bonus overs .At this stage extras were our highest scorer with over 40 of our total mostly in byes Daniel Langan joined salman and disastrously salman was out for 30 after a very good effort and Pinner had slumped to 127 for 7 after 30 overs. Daniel played his shots and tamoor haidar settled with him before after a 28 partnership was ended with tamoor exit 155 for 8 .Enter Ravi pandya at 10 who played himself in and incredibly runs flowed freely as a 43 partnership came to be and Pinner now 196 for 9 when Daniel was out for an excellent knock of 30 . Pinner had successfully also used up overs so now one felt we had a total to defend, what we didn't know was Ravi would then open up fully and those that know him are well aware of his capabilities as he scored a superb 45 8 x 4 and with harsha poovaiah a 38 partnership as pinners innings closed at 234 for 10 in 48 pt 5 overs which at 127 for 7 just didn't look achievable our tail had wagged for sure .incredibly 34 byes 9 leg byes 6 no balls and 2 wides a total of 51 extras had been our highest scorer today. Beard 3 for 42. Ellis 2 for 32 ,Khamath 2 for 52 ,west 2 for 30 and Brooker 1 for 35 were the visitors wicket takers . Harsha poovaiah opened with Daniel and in his first 5 overs took 3 wickets for 0 runs as the visitors with 51 overs to bat slumped to 9 for 3 .Daniel with his flighted left arm spin
then also incredibly struck 3 blows and white Waltham were now 15 for 6 and completely shell shot.A few lusty blows were not going to be too damaging before Daniel struck 3 more times 39 for 9 and it was salman who took the last wicket as white Waltham finished 44 for 10 off 23 overs and a massive 190 run victory for Pinner ,harsha 8 overs 6 maidens ( 3 wicket maidens) 3 wickets for 17 runs,Daniel 11 overs 6 maidens (4 wicket maidens)6 wickets for 12 runs and salman 4 overs 2 maidens 1 wicket for 13 took the bowling honours today.The game was played in a good spirit and the visitors wished us good luck for the rest of the season sadly they depart our league joining the Thames valley league.The usual Pinner tea was served up and despite the odd shower the rain had kept away despite often dark clouds appearing .30 points gained from this topsy turvy game of cricket ,well done all onwards and upwards come on you lambs.The visitors did bring an umpire who was happy to stand at square leg so once again Leeroy did both ends throughout the game.An excellent team performance and just like at little Marlow us at 118 for 7 had gone on to a big score that had looked unlikely but was achieved
