Match report The twos set of for Holyport in sun but it was soon raining heavily as we drove through Ruislip. We arrived at the ground, noting the outfield that was very wet, too wet to cut apparently and a pitch under covers. Then came the rain. For those in the know lot was a 'must win' toss that skips lost!
Batting on a wicket that looked as the tide had just gone out, and an out field that acted as an extra fielder, Pinner did exceptionally well to get to 96, with Robert Fells top scoring with 26. Cyrus also played well but elegant cover drives picked up more moisture that a wet vac. However by batting 46 overs it meant that Holyport only had 44 in return.
Opening the bowling with Dan Downer and 'Onion' Shaji Thomas, Pinner had the upper hand. Dan bowled 12 overs 2-13 and its currently unsure if he has moved since. Manipulating the bowlers Pinner ended up losing by 2 wickets with skips (4-33) and Shaji (1-26).
It was an excellent game of cricket wherr each and every Lamb gave their all - and it was an honour to skipper the side. Just a shame we lost the toss!
