Match report On a warm sunny afternoon Pinner 2's made the relatively short journey to Knotty Green.
Winning the toss was just what the doctor ordered, but at 11-3 after 6 overs the emergency services were being called for! Skips, (23),Adam Rissen (11) and Cyrus Barrett (82*) steadied the ship. However a muscle injury forced Cb off and was followed by a couple of more quick wickets leaving the Lambs at 68-7. Then came two partnerships with Waris Khan (3) putting on 44 with Cyrus and Dan Downer(13) putting on a league and 2nd team record partnership of 64. This meant a target of 177 was set, probably 50 under par but better than expected after the poor start.
Skips (1-28) took an early wicket with the old ball but all bowlers seemed to be struggling with the run ups, as 20 wides were conceded and the new ball rather wasted. Dan (3-38) gained reward for line and length bowling with all clean bowled. Varun Gopalakrishnan (1-28) and Simon Pilsbury (1-12) collected what proved to be consolation wickets as Knotty chased the total off 39 overs.
Batting let the team down, but very pleased for Cyrus, who is in the form of his life and reaping the rewards of attending winter and summer practice. Well done CB!
