Match report The sunday X1 welcomed old merchant Taylor's cc to montesole playing fields today for what was being stated as a 1pm start. However with only 1 visitor at the ground at 1 35 pm and the rest of the opponents arriving en bloc at 1 45 pm it was decided to reduce a 40 overs per team game to 35 overs per team So as not to have possible light problems .On a lovely sunny day Leeroy Rogers won the toss and elected to bat with stalwart rob Harrison and Nick Lawrence opening for the lambs.30 was put on relatively comfortably before Nick fell for 18 4 X 4 at 30 for 1 .This bought u/15 Colt zadan Chowdhry to the arena and rob Harrison and zAdan put on 77 for the 2nd wicket which fell at 107 in the 15th over. Rob harrison had played himself in as his first 15 balls delivered no runs and after bowling changes he had what a lot of players call pie or buffet bowling to face.However us who know our cricket realise that these bowlers take many wickets due to underestimation and poor shot selection .bobs excellent foot movement and watch the ball and tackling each ball on merit benefitted him as he comfortably found the gaps to score 11 boundary 4s before just after drinks break being run out for 70 in 56 balls .mateen Choudhry got 16 , Chris hull 15 and with mr extras 30 being our 2nd highest run scorer Pinner were to reach a competitive 173 for 9 off their allotted overs .omt bowling honours saw Neil Richards 3 for 13 ,Anthony macdonald -barker 2 for 29 and captain Rajiv radakrishnan 2 for 18 .in reply omt went off at a blistering run chase being 70 for 0 after 8 overs.with kinal Patel 47 and the aggressive Sohan modhi 67 in in 53 balls taking a 125 partnership which Nick Lawrence broke with modhi dismissal.Nick 3 for 23 struck twice more at 125 and was on a hat trick .U15 Colt mannas avula 1 for 24 took his first wicket in adult cricket but this was to be pinners final success.rain was threatning and after drizzle for a while with 8 runs required started to be heavy a couple of 4s saw omt through to a 6 wicket victory with 5 overs to spare.pinner played 3 U15 colts today who all had a game and that was so good for our club to see.we have some talent now coming through into the adult format and that is massive for our club moving forward.lisa prepared her usual excellent Pinner tea which was no surprise to our visitors as she supplies teas to omt cc.
