Match report The two's travelled to Chalfont St Giles on a warm sunny day. Looking at the track , it appeared that they had managed to miss the heavy downpours of the previous evening as there were cracks throughout the length of it.
Skips list the toss and the Lambs were asked to bat first. Cedric Ayres, bowling with his side burns and in swing gave nothing away and patience was the key. Despite losing two wickets Simon Pilsbury (49) and Rob Bonneywell (34) nurdled the score to 104 before SP went. There then followed a collapse as 8 wickets fell for 37 runs, and even worst Pinner didn't bat the 47 overs.
A good tea was taken and Pinner knew they had to take early wickets to cause some panic in the home side.
Mannus Avula (1-19) bowled well and deservedly took an early wicket and a smart piece of fielding by Shakib Miskeenmal should have got a second. Despite regular changes and many balls passed the edge of the bat, the wickets didn't come. In fact the only other breakthrough was when Shane O'Sullivan did get the edge and Robert Fells held on at slip.
A disappointing day at the office but a young side that will learn from this defeat.
