Match report our old friends ruislip Victoria arrived at montesole,we had played them in Sunday friendlies and in the Middlesex championship before they moved into the Berkshire league some years ago and on leaving that league and joining the chiltern league there 1st x1 had gone into the premier division of our league and there 2 nd x1 into division 2 chiltern the same as our 2 nd x1 . On winning the toss they elected to field and rohitesh dharwan and Simon pilsbury both oxford university scholars at different times opened the batting for Pinner.They formed a formidable opening duo and put on 139 for the first wicket in 25 overs till Simon departed with 39 but pinner were well set with 22 overs to bat and 9 wickets in hand to leave ruislip Victoria well and truly with the blues at this stage.jack tucker joined rohitesh and got going also as rohitesh scored freely with a good range of shots and both found gaps to hit 4‘s into.jack was out at 223 for 2 in the 35 th over for 40 and Saif khan got a 1st baller 223 for 3 35 overs.Rob bonneywell joined rohitesh but not for long as rohitesh innings ended in the 36 th over for a big 133 24 x 4 in 125 balls 153 minutes and Pinner now 227 for 4 .krishnan radhakrishnan joined rob and immediately went aggressively after the bowling ,rob tucked in till he was out for 13 262 for 5 44 overs.daniel Langan joined krishnan and these 2 took the score to 287 for 5 off 45 pt 5 overs till Rob Bonneywell declared krishnan 36 not out in 20balls 6 x 4 and Daniel 10 not out in 4 balls.Wicket takers for the visitors had been amir khan 13 overs 4 maidens 2 wkts for 47 runs, usman chowdhury 5 pt 5 overs 0 mdns 2 wkts for 64 runs and saad chowdhury 10 overs 0 mdns 1 wkt for 56 runs.Lisa served up her usual tea which both teams enjoyed before rob prepared his troops and ruislip Victoria knowing they had 44 overs to bat.Maanus avula opened with Daniel Langan and with maanus taking a wicket in the first over and Daniel in the 4 th and 7 th over after an end change ruislip Victoria were then reduced to 29 for 3 and Pinner on top for sure.Mikael wahab was joined by abdikarim Ismael and wahab set about the pinner bowling taking on all the bowlers while Ismael tucked into a small share just content to let washab unleash.incredibly these two put on 192 in 27 overs before dan downer made the vital breakthrough having Ismael caught by jack tucker for 49.However wahab was continuing to hit the bowling to all parts of our ground Rob bought back Daniel Langan and he struck again importantly though not wahab a 5 th wicket for Pinner 250 for 5 37 overs. Rob Bonneywell also came on and took a wicket 257 for 6 38 overs.Ruislip Victoria then reached 270 for 6 and with 18 to win 4 wickets in hand and 4 overs to get them it looked that wahab would see his team home.However rob enticed him down the track and a jack tucker throw at the stumps saw wahab’s tremendous innings end on 161 18 x 4 7 x 6 105 balls 171 minutes 270 for 7 40 overs.As happens in cricket players coming out to bat who been watching wahab from the pavilion hitting to all parts with aplomb were now without him at the crease not in a comfort zone knowing they had pressure on them to see the visitors through .In the 41st over Daniel took 2 consecutive wickets a caught and bowled of number 9 after being hit to the boundary and nailing number 10 lbw first ball and 279 for 9 off 41 meant pinner were now back in the driving seat for the first time in over 30 plus overs.In the 42 nd over a batsman hit the ball and it appeared to be going over John Hoh‘s head deepish mid off towards the boundary when he clutched the ball with a fine catch and was engulfed by his team mates as Pinner had incredibly won the game as Daniel took his 6 th wicket.Ruislip Victoria finished 280 for 10 in 42 pt 1 overs with still 11 balls left to bat and a 7 run victory and 30 big points for Pinner .pinner‘s wicket takers were maanus avula 3 overs 0 mdns 1 wkt for 15 runs,Daniel Langan 9 pt 1 over 1 mdn 6 wkts for 39 runs,Rob Bonneywell 6 overs 0 mdns 2 wkts for 36 runs and dan downer 7 overs 1 mdn 1 wkt for 63 runs . Leroy Rogers and hanif chowdhary umpired the game well and it was played in a good spirit throughout this very exciting twisting and turning game of cricket
