Match report Leaving pinner cc last night in the rain and hearing the forecast for today ,I was amazed that we got in a game of cricket today with a combined total of 500 runs being scored and boundaries 4 s and 6s a plenty but thankfully no rain .Barchworth cc a breakaway team from omt cc from Watford were the opposition including quite a few of attendees of merchant Taylor’s school among their ranks.Alan negotiated a toss and it was his team Alan’s angels that he sent into bat first.A miss hit shot from Alan 9 saw his departure at 10 for 1 but fellow opener Malik qadeer was seeing the ball nicely and going for his shots joined by Raahul aggarwal who did likewise with good feet movement.malik was out for 37 7 x 4 at 83 for 2 a partnership of 72 in the 15 th over bringing Kieran carter to the crease .kieran was bowled for 9 and Pinner were 98 for 3 this bought Saif Khan to join Raahul whose aggressive desire to tuck into the batchworth bowling truly erupted.raahul raced to 50 and then incredibly scored his 2 nd 50 in 17 balls raining 4s and 6s all around montesole including hitting 4 in 1 over. Alan retired Raahul out for 103 at 194 for 4 in the 25 th over his innings was 11 x 4 7 x 6 61 balls 91 minutes and was an excellent one.Saif Khan had also tucked in and scored 40 Adam rissen 26 as pinner reached a formidable 261 all out in 3 balls under their allotted 35 .jones 1 ,tiwari 2 ,Watson 1 ,macdonald Barker 1 ,Davis 1 and rawat 2 and run out and retired out saw the 10 pinner wickets fall.Both teams tucked into a Lisa tea before batchworth cc reply began. Nick lawrence opened with Jamie carter and batchworth had reached 42 before nick struck twice to reduce them to 42 for 2 .kinal patel batchworth opener had scored 38 before becoming nicks 3 rd victim at 66 for 3 ..ravinder bassi joined the attack and batchworth had reached 90 then 94 with Ravi taking the 4 th and 5 th wicket. Alan switched the bowling around and that seemed to suit 4 bat tiwari who decided to go full attack and he scored an excellent 72 14 x 4 with a 26 ball 50 and had only faced 38 balls when Alan himself came on and tempted him into a shot he was to regret 169 for 6 and a partnership of 75 was broken finally sadly for the visitors.
yusuf waqar 29 batted well as did rawat 38 not out and a 53 partnership took place for the 7 th wicket till Jamie carter took 3 wickets in the 34 th over and 222 for 7 ,223 for 8 225 for 9 resulted.Alan used 8 bowlers today and the wicket takers were nick Lawrence 3 for 24 ,Jamie carter 3 for 37 runs ,alan carter 1 for 29 runs and Ravi bassi 2 for 38 runs.Batchworth stayed for a drink after and the game was played in a great sporting spirit with pinner winning by 39 runs
