Match report Pinner 2's continued their winning ways against The Lee 2's in a one sided Chilterns League match.
After losing the toss Pinner were asked to bat first on a green track, made slightly damper with overnight rain. After losing a wicket in the 3rd over Simon Pilsbury (46) and Raj Pandian (68) built steadily, putting the bad balls away, They put on 60 for the second wicket before Simon was beaten, just one shot away from his 50. This brought Saif Khan (21) to the wicket and after some fine blows, he was beaten in the flight and departed leg before.
At 113-3 after 29 overs The Lee felt they might be on top, but they didn't reckon on the Omkar Narvencar(101*) show. With majestic timing and powerful hitting Omkar put the attack to all parts of Pinner, with a delicious straight drive starting the proceedings. Omkar and Raj put on a record breaking 159 run partnership before Raj was caught out. There was a slight pause in the destruction before Omkar found the strength to blast his 4th 6 to move to a well deserved 100 in just 53 balls! The declaration followed with Pinner 278-4 off 43.4 overs.
After a lovely Lisa Noel tea, Pinner took to the field, opening with Varun Gopalakrishnan (3-13) and Jamie Carter (1-22) and Jamie was quick to take the first wicket, Simon holding on at midwicket. Varun struck in the 5th over and The Lee never looked like mounting any challenge. Regular bowling changes enabled skip (3-17) to use 6 bowlers, including a first league wicket for Sachin (1-16), and wickets for Adam Rissen (1-1) and Akshay Dhanda (1-8).
Post match drinks were well deserved and enjoyed by all, with the 2's gaining 55 points from their first two games.
