Match report Pinner 2s travelled to the postage stamp ground of The Lee, to play the return fixture from last week.
Skips won the toss and had no hesitation in batting. In a changed side from last week the openers remained the same. However a wicket on the second ball meant the opening stand was short lived. That brought Saif Khan (117) to he crease and suddenly Pinner were 10-1 off the first over. A 126 run partnership with Simon Pilsbury (24) gave a solid base as Saif hit to all parts, including smashing the back window of an oppos car!
Simon departed, but Kieran Carter (83) continued the onslaught, smashing indifferent bowling to all the parts of the Lee that Saif couldn't reach! Shakib Miskeenmal (17) came in at the end to biff some more boundaries before a declaration came after 40 overs, with The Lambs scoring 287-6.
A splendid tea with hot homemade sausage rolls and scones with clotted cream was had by all and Pinner took to the field knowing they had 50 overs to bowl The Lee out.
Unusually it took to the 10th over for a breakthrough, with Jamie Carter (1-36) clean bowling their opener. No more wickets fell until the introduction of John Hoh (2-27) and skips (3-20). After John finished an excellent spell, it left Shakib (4-7) to clean up the rest, clean bowling their main batsman who had scored 75.
Despite some loose fielding Pinner came home with 30 points and a 157 run victory!
Well played the Lambs, onwards and upwards!
