Match report A cold day after recent spoiled with sunshine days faced pinner and northwood town our local rivals today for the friendly at Montesole thankfully no rain but a cold blowng wind swirled around for the entire game.Northwood town won the toss and it was agreed on an 85 over game with the team batting first having the choice of 45 which is how it turned out to be.Northwood town innings was held together by 2 main partnerships of 90 and 78 as they batted 45 overs to reach 207 for 8.opener halal 95 12 x 4 126 balls 149 minutes ,ramawat 40 in 63 balls 5 x 4 76 minutes and Lawrence 30 in 37 balls 35 minutes all occupied the crease and kept the scoreboard ticking.Daniel langan came on to bowl with town well set and struck 4 times as 90 for no wicket became 104 for 4 but town carried on with partnerships to reach their final total.daniel bowled 9 overs 2 maidens and was rewarded with a good 5 for 26 return after an excellent well flighted spell and Felix hoh 9 overs 0 maidens 2 wkts for 30 runs and rohit dhawan 3 overs o maidens 1 for 18. Lisa Noel prepared her lovely tea as usual with as always lots of variety on the table enjoyed by all then pinner went out to bat with rohit and alan Carter opening.rohit got 17 and sportingly walked when edging a reared up ball to keeper but alan remained playing balls on merit as he does with aplomb.pinner had 4 main partnerships of 39 95 21 26 and this needs to be taken on board in upcoming league games as it's key in building a score.alan scored 59 in 85 balls 113 minutes and showed the concentration that he is known for as a responsible opening team batsman.Omkar narvencar hit a big 82 in 78 balls 10 x 4 3 x 6 but pinner were to eventually fall 7 runs short at 200 for 7 after 40 overs and a draw was the result.shah and Lawrence both bowled well for the visitors shah 3 wickets for 33 runs Lawrence 2 wickets for 25 runs both off 9 overs .An excellent work out today with good cricket played by both teams bodes well for respective season going forwards and the game played in great sporting spirit was a credit to the game of cricket
