Match report Let me tell you a story that starts like this,the whole team plus umpire,scorer and an assistant scoreboard technician plus kieran carter and Emma were waiting outside the coleshill pavilion and pondering
We're we at a game today at 12 25pm when an opposistion player turned up to open the home pavilion panic over.daniel tossed up and winning put the home team into bat and harsha poovaiah struck 2 early blows to reduce the home team to 7 for 2.Then a 3rd for harsha at 22 for 3 had coleshill on the back foot and pinner well on top till the home team made a recovery and a run out saw them 52 for 4 then asif struck 61 for 5 pinner well on top however number 3 wajahat ali 61 10 X 4 2 X 6 and awais Hussain 27 2 X 4 3 X 6 put on 62 for the 6th wicket with 2 contentious appeals on each batsmen for catches being turned down by there playing umpire which unsettled pinner and for a while I thought we were off our game and issues that reminded me of the middlesex championship surfaced and I could see clearly
we got involved in a volatile situation resulting in the umpire (who I'm told was chatting away with both batsmen after turning down our appeals) being replaced but the bad atmosphere remaining.mateen choudhry 3 for 9 Daniel Langan 2 for 8 cleared up coleshill for 137 off 30pt 4 overs job done and pinner with a 2 an over target off 69 overs to win what more could we wished for at game start. harsha 3 asif 1 mateen 3 Daniel 2 and a run out were the wicket takers.norman williams and alan carter opened up and we're involved in a disastrous run out 6 for 1 Norman gone for 0 which became 6 for 2 with ravi pandya departing next ball and alan carter 12 going at 22 for 3 an exact mirror image of the home innings after 6 overs.Then asif khan and mateen choudhry settled in with a 77 run partnership which saw pinner to 99 for 3 (14 overs partnership at 5 an over) and seemingly cruising to victory before mateen departed for 48 in 52 balls 99 for 4 after 20 overs.with 49 overs remaining pinner needed 38 runs for victory with 6 wickets in hand.asif departed at 103 for 5 37 in 60 balls and this was the catalyst of the drama to follow as we lost our way.wajahat ali had joined the attack and pinner imploded with him taking 5 for 8 and with tayaab illyass 2 for 21 disastrously pinner fell apart to be bowled out for 122 in 35pt 5 overs so 99 for 3 became 110 for 8 then 115 for 9 then 122 all out and a 15 run defeat. Today was a bad day for us and that we must take firmly on the chin learn from and then forget as we move forward But it has come relatively early in our league campaign and hopefully we will recover our discipline for the remainder of our season starting in the next match.my assistant scoreboard technician said it was a hostile game as there is no point in having 1 captain having control of his players while the other captain did not and this sparked problems on field also we had an official umpire and they didnt.we move on its gone put it behind us and onwards and upwards to next week.
