Match report Record Partnership destroys Little Marlow
A record 2nd XI league partnership of 167* between Robert Fells (95*) and the returning Jack Tucker (50*) meant that Pinner 2's continued their good form this season, and further consolidated 2nd spot in Division 4.
After electing to bat, Little Marlow got off to a slow start, scoring roughly 2 runs an over off the efervescent Philip Page (2-43) and the excellent Tallen Neelakandan (2-29). Only the enforced limit for young bowlers meant that a change had to be made after 12 overs, with Simon Pilsbury (1-47) replacing Tallen. Skips (4-30) replaced Phil and despite some big hitting to the short boundary by Holmes, LM ended on 168 all out, probably 20 runs short of a par score. The Pinner ground fielding was excellent, with Sahil Aggarwal, Andrew Maher and Simon covering many miles, and had 4 chances been held an earlier Lisa Noel tea could have been enjoyed.
The total could have been a difficult chase as it was part wayof being a good total and an easy chase, and the early depature of Andrew to a good ball could have, in previous seasons, caused alarms. However with Rob and Jack punishing the bad balls and running intelligently between the wickets, Pinner marched onto the total with 12 overs to spare.
So the Pinner 2's continue to progress playing intellgent and patient cricket and as a result ended the day with another 30 points in the bag.
A mid season week off next week when a friendly fixture will hopefully give those that havent batted or bowled the chance to shine.
