Pinner Cricket Club Sunday 1st XI v Musicians XI on Sun 10 Jul 2016 at 13.00
Pinner Cricket Club Lost by 8 wickets

Match report We welcomed mca to pinner cc today a merry band of musicians from here there and everywhere today some near ,some from St albans,Dulwich and high wycombe. Our usual captain alan carter an artist in his own right (a painter and decorator) handed over captain duties to ravi pandya today who won the toss and elected pcc to bat and alan carter and murali neelakandan opened.we had reached 47 before alan 29 in 33 balls 3 X 4 1 X 6 (2 with 4 overthrows) departed just as he was in the swing of things.nevan o sullivan our drummer departed swiftly 58 for 2.murali was getting the odd single here and there but found himself stranded as 6 quick wickets fell as 58 for 2 became 88 for 8 and stacks of overs to bat The last 2 wickets added 24 as pcc ended 112 all out off 35 overs.murali 45 not out in 105 balls 2 X 4 carried his bat well done murali ,alan 29 and 20 extras meant 9 pinner batsmen scored 18 runs between them not an encouraging sight in the scorebook.spinner jacob phillips 5 for 26 and Ben knight 2 for 16 were the main reason for orchestring pinners demise but bad shot selection helped them greatly. Mca got a tune alright from Barton 24 in 56 balls who opened with Duffield 62 in 68 balls Putting on 79 for the first wicket before young colt Shane o sullivan our saxophonist struck with his 1st wicket in adult cricket Barton lbw .murali removed Duffield at 100 for 2 tallen neelakandan bowled 4 overs for only 5 runs in a finely tuned rhythmic spell But despite using 8 bowlers pinner couldn't stop the musicians marching on to an 8 wicket victory with 16pt 4 overs To spare.both teams conducted themselves very well ,game was played in good spirit and harmony just a pity our overall performance was so to say to be majorly flat,oh well I'm not going to harp on about it as tactically the opposistion were allowed to pull the strings throughout today. We im afraid just had to face the music, lisa prepared her usual fantastic tea and was well received by the musicians who enjoyed there day with us and will be returning next season to perform in our park
