Match report After rain yesterday afternoon and into the night ,but with no rain forcast for today I was optimistic of a full days cricket today Knowing that drying would have taken place and that's exactly what took place 2 X 40 overs of cricket with no sight of the dreaded rain.Battersea eagles turned up in dribs and drabs but after winning the toss and electing to bat their captain had stated they may have only 10 players after all finally arrived they had 12 . Their players all lived within a 10 mile radius of battersea.we had played them last year as battersea imperial but eagles was now the name they've changed to.opener suraj rathi scored 46,monsour jaji 75 12 X 4 1 X 6 and adam zabel 33 all batted well as our opponents scored 236 for 8 with shaji thomas 2 for 29 ,mateen choudhry 1 for 33,felix hoh 2 for 44 and ravi pandya 1 for 28 with 2 run outs taking the wickets for pinner murali neelakandan held 2 Catches but other dropped Catches had cost the home side dearly.pinner's captain alan carter 81 in 78 balls 11 X 4 and murali neelakandan 17 put on over 70 partnership for the 1st wicket ,ravi pandya at 3 25 ,mateen choudhry 19 ,kieran carter 22 ,varun singh 18 and Leroy Rogers 12 not out all batted well but good field placings and switching around with 8 bowlers 3 left arm saw pinner bat out their full 40 overs but finishing 217 for 8 and a 19 Run victory for battersea eagles.fulhad ahmad zai 2 for 31,rajiv katare 2 for 19, khalid Harris 1 for 41 and 3 run outs took the 8 pinner wickets to fall.The game was played in a good spirit the opposistion enjoyed a lisa tea so much and stayed for a few drinks after game before departing to Balham, tooting, Stratford and battersea they had thoroughly enjoyed their day at pinner cc.As their captain left he said I must go and thank lisa for our wonderful tea so well done as allways lisa.
