Match report Pinner captain today in the absence of Daniel Langan was Alan Carter for the home game with Chalfont st Giles 2nd X1 and in winning the toss he had no hesitation in taking the batting option.The visitors bought 6 colts with them 4 u16 1 u17 and 1 u 14 with 5 experienced players made up their team.i had been impressed with the 4 colts who had played against us at their ground a few weeks ago in a 60 run victory for us and in fact one of them had been promoted to their 1st X1 today.Norman Williams and Alan Carter opened for Pinner and it became obvious that some overnight rain had caused the wicket to liven up and opening bowler captain Cedric ayres down the hill was finding the spot to cause problems.In the 9th over Norman walked after gloving a ball to the keeper which the visiting umpire had not seen for 5 26 for 1 .jonny hymers joined Alan and in the 13th over was caught by the keeper again off ayres for 5 36 for 2 .hari ramachandran joined Alan who was ticking the board over until the 28th over when he was caught in the deep again off ayres 78 for 3 scored 49 6 x 4 75 balls 85 minutes.Hari was next to go given out by the visiting umpire caught keeper for 15 when it appeared the ball had come off his pads unlucky hari 78 for 4 jack tucker and salman moeeniddin were now in an innings rebuild situation cut short by jack clean bowled for 1 80 for 5 26th overs.Earlier in the day raj pandian had been asked if he would drop down the order to be anchor and this reaped dividends for Pinner as that is just what he did in the situation we had found ourselves in .ayres 15 overs 3 maidens 4 for 40 was bowled out and it was a 61 partnership in 15 overs till salman perished for an excellent 45 56 balls 56 minutes 8 x 4 and Pinner 141 for 6 41 overs.ravi pandya joined raj and it was raj who had done an excellent anchor role next to go for 18 47 balls 66 minutes 170 for 7 44 overs.ravi opened up again as he had last week and the scoreboard was increasing with regularity asif Khan departed at 189 for 8 46 overs with Felix hoh departing in the same over 191 for 9 .harsha poovaiah joined Ravi and a 17 run partnership was bought to an end with ravi falling for an excellent 41 in 25 balls 7 x 4 and Pinner 208 all out 47 pt 3 overs .Batting was not free flowing on an interesting wicket for bowlers today and all were happy with our score as we felt we had the bowling know how and prowess to make the visitors run chase no easy task. Payne 12 pt 3 overs 1 maiden 4 for 60 ,wright 7 overs 0 maidens 1 for 18 and Patel 7 overs 1 maiden 1 for 40 took the bowling honours for csgcc today.Tea was taken and csgcc 2 experienced openers Patel and Zala both had diffulculty with the bowling of asif Khan down the hill and spinner Ravi pandya up the hill as Pinner had not and ultimately didn't take new ball option.zala went first in the 5th over caught by raj pandian off asif 9 for 1 then Ravi bowled 3 bat 10 for 2 after 6 overs.one of their Colt bowlers had strained his arm muscle and was not to bat so in fact Pinner had only 7 wickets to take at this point.hari ramachandran took a 1 handed awesome catch in the gully to take out Patel off asif and now 10 for 3 in the 7th over .pinner went in for the kill and asif struck 18 for 4 11 th over and 26 for 5 13th over both clean bowled. Ravi then got another 27 for 6 then asif 27 for 7 and again Ravi 28 for 8 and the opposition blown away .ravi took the last wicket 41 for 9 the visitors innings had lasted just over the hour as Pinner ran out 167 runs victorious and another 30 points in the bag. Asif bowled 10 overs 3 maidens 5 wickets for 20 and ravi 9pt 5 overs 4 maidens 4 wickets for 21 both had bowled excellently in this big victory for Pinner.The 2nd X1 returned from littlewick green also after victory And it was good to see both teams together sampling jugs of lager outside the clubhouse and all having a good time celebrating together 2 excellent wins for our league teams today
