Match report Pinner welcomed holyport 2nd x1 to montesole playing fields today in a pre league friendly match and due to the visitors texting ahead they would be arriving late the captains agreed that pinner would bat first .rob fells 24 in 31 balls opened with raj pandian 61 not out in 76 balls and a partnership of 62 for the 1st wicket unfolded before rob departed.This bought Johny hymers our recent adopted Geordie who sadly missed the majority of 2016 through injury in an early league game to the crease and though he was dropped by the wicket keeper a sharp chance when on 11 he took full advantage in punishing holyport bowling attack-with a range of good all round shots to score an excellent 100 not out 16 X 4 in 78 balls his first 50 being in 49 balls.The 2 put on a 168 unbroken partnership as captain Daniel Langan declared at 230 for 1 off only 30 overs.with 48 overs to bowl out the opposition Pinner quickly reduced them to 18 for 2 as both openers took a wicket .3 holyport batsmen got 30 plus but no one went on to the big score needed to threaten pinners total.dan downer bowled excellently to take a well deserved 3 for 26 ,rob bonneywell 3 for 14 ,Daniel Langan 2 for 16 ,Varun gopal 1 for 15 and shaji Thomas 1 for 27 as holyport succumbed with 4 pt 5 overs left to bat and finished on 172 all out and a 58 run victory for Pinner.A good workout ,played in good spirit on a coldish day but then it is April.The usual fabulous tea served up and in workout terms ten different players playing Sunday at Pinner cc v Edgware cc so good preparation for league team selection for the 2 captains playing today to consider in what is predicted to be strong availability for this coming league season
