Match report Chalfont st Giles 2 nd x1 travelled to montesole today to play our 2 nd x1 and on winning the toss captain Cyrus Barrett elected the opponents to bat first,our under 13 colt captain Jamie carter opened the bowling with nick Lawrence and it was jamie in his first over who bowled an opener for a duck 1 for 1 and then in his 2 nd over nevan o Sullivan clutched on to a skier again off Jamie 7 for 2 after 3 overs.The experienced opener nick Zala bedded in With jack marsh and these 2 put on 68 for the 3 rd wicket before deepak amriwala caught and bowled Zala 30 73 balls 74 minutes

and 75 for 3 25 overs.Deepak then clean bowled marsh 33 7 x 4 73 balls 77 mins 80 for 4 28 overs .Then bob Leonard and will Gibbs put on 55 in just under 7 overs till Simon Pilsbury struck in the 33 rd over removing Gibbs 29 and then nick Lawrence removing Leonard 19 in the 34 th over 134 for 6 .With simon taking 2 more quick wickets to reduce Chalfont to 152 for 8 off 39 overs and then nick striking 158 for 9 off 41 pinner had to be confident of finishing off the visitors innings and draw back extra overs but that plan didn’t come to fruition.Batsmen Owen and ayres added 35 priceless runs unbeaten as Chalfont ended on 193 for 9 wickets off there allotted 47 overs the visitors were buoyed by this partnership .pinner wicket takers were Jamie carter 4 overs 0 mdns 2 wickets for 17 runs,nick Lawrence 14 overs 3 mdns 2 wickets for 40 runs,deepak amriwala 4 overs 0 mdns 2 for 29 runs and Simon Pilsbury 6 overs 1 mdn 3 for 28 .Tea was taken with the usual delights served up then pinner openers rob fells and Simon Pilsbury set off on the run chase with 43 overs for Pinner to chase down the 194 needed for victory.rob departed bowled for 1 in the 2 nd over followed in the 11 th over with the departure of raj pandian 19 for 2 as Pinner struggled to gain momentum In the run pursuit.Saif khan joined Simon and both then set about the bowling to put on an excellent 70 run partnership before saif departed for 40 in 38 balls 50 mins 7 x 4 and Pinner 89 for 3,cyrus joined Simon and both looked comfortable though Simon had lady luck on his side being dropped twice and it was cyrus who departed at 128 for 4 29 overs and then Simon who had reached his 3 rd consecutive 50 10 x 4 in 88 balls 105 minutes departed 131 for 5 31 overs and the visitors back in this game amongst the pinner tail. Nick ,nevan and Jamie soon followed and Pinner slumped to 150 for 8 wickets off 40 overs as Chalfont had by now reverted to there opening bowlers.pinner looked likely to save this game but disastrously lost there last 2 wickets in the 43 rd over and with 2 balls to spare victory was chalfonts by 39 runs .chalfont wicket takers were tom Payne 10 pt 4 overs 3 maidens 3 wickets for 39 runs ,Cedric ayres 13 overs 3 mdns 3 wkts for 27 runs,Ollie Zala 5 overs 1 mdn 1 wkt for 36 ,will Gibbs 5 overs 0 mdns 2 wkts for 19 runs and Ralph wood 3 overs 1 maiden 1 wkt for 2 runs.pinners last 7 wickets had gone down for 26 runs today sadly and this happens from time to time ,the game was well umpired by rob bonneywell pcc and Alan gray chalfont st Giles cc and the game was played by both teams in good spirit
