Holyport 2 v Pinner Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 22 Jun 2019 at 13:00
Pinner Cricket Club Won by 3 wickets

Match report Pinner 2's made the long trip to Maidenhead to play Holyport on a warm sunny day (a rare event so far this summer).
Arriving at the ground we found a surprising dry pitch (at least by Holyport's standards. Given last week's non-event of a game with Hurley, skips had no hesitation in asking the hosts to bat first on a pitch that always played low and slow, knowing that Pinner had a team that was heavily balanced in favour of batting.
Jamie Carter (1-26) opened the bowling with Jack Tucker (0-35) and some initial wayward overs enabled Edwards and Tilehurst to get off to a good start, scoring 55 off of the first 10 overs. Jamie made the breakthrough, trapping the latter LBW, Jack then found his line and length and with the introduction of Rob Bonneywelll (5-10), the runs suddenly dried up, with skips going at just 1 an over off 10 overs.
Simon Pilsbury (1-17) was brought on for a couple of overs around the first drinks break, taking a wicket but the find of the day, and possibly the season, was the introduction of Singh Satinder (3-26). Bowling a well controlled 12 overs of off-spin Satinder allowed Pinner to keep control of the Holyport batting and the reintroduction of skips meant that only three batsmen were able to get into double figures, with Edwards carrying his bat for 54.
After a lovely tea, Pinner opened with the regular twosome but it didn't last long as Robert Fells went for a swipe and missed a straight one. This brought Satinder (43) to join Simon (19) and a partnership of 62 steadied the ship. however Pinner were still losing wickets at regular intervals on a pitch that was playing lower and lower as the day went on. Both Jack Tucker (13) and Cyrus Barrett (37) played patiently before being undone by the low bounce and it was left to Kieran Carter (22*) to steer the Lambs home by 3 wickets.
A good, hard fought game played in the right spirit by both sides ended with Pinner extending their lead at the top of the division.
Well played all, and a lesson to Hurley that when you win the toss and bowl you really need to a) bowl a side out and b) make an attempt to chase the target set!
