Match report Pinner 2's picked up a fine win in their first league game of 2019 at Little Marlow.
Winning the toss it was a simple decision to invite LM to bat on a green track with the threat of rain in the air. Jamie Carter (2-44) picked up an early wicket, but a 110 run partnership between Marie and Mason, with some big hitting aligned with a little inconsistent bowling put LM in a strong position. Skips (6-35) brought himself into the attack and after a couple of overs had Marie back in the hutch. Navin Agarwal (1-29) replaced Jamie and deservedly got the dangerous Mason out. From then on batsmen were to be regularly walking to and from the wicket as Skips took his first 5 wicket haul for two years. Varun Gopalakrishnan (1-23) came back into the attack and took the last wicket, being far too quick for the last LM batsman, with Little Marlow ending on 175 ao from 46.2 overs, a slightly below par score.
After a lovely tea with hot and cold offerings Pinner took to chasing the target in 43 overs. Rob Robert Fells (15) and Simon Pilsbury (10) put on 24 before Fellsy was turned back by SP and run out by a couple of yards. Raj Pandian (24) replaced him and proved to be the rock around which the rest of the Pinner batsmen could score. Always scoring at over 5 an over Raj was joined by Kieran (14), Saif Khan (36) and Akshay Dhanda (48*) before departing. Akshay saw the Lambs home with overs and wickets to spare in a good game played in a friendly but competitive spirit.
